Hadith Complements the Quran:
The Quran provides universal principles, and the Hadith explains how to implement them. Allah commands believers to obey the Prophet (PBUH):
Quran Reference:
وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا
Translation: “And whatever the Messenger has given you – take it, and whatever he has forbidden you – refrain from it.”
(Surah Al-Hashr, 59:7)
This verse shows the binding authority of the Hadith in the life of a Muslim.
Guidance for Worship (Ibadah):
The Prophet (PBUH) demonstrated how to perform prayers (Salah), fasting (Sawm), Zakat, Hajj, and other forms of worship in detail. Without Hadith, we would not know the practical aspects of these pillars of Islam.
Hadith Example – Prayer (Salah):
صَلُّوا كَمَا رَأَيْتُمُونِي أُصَلِّي
Translation: “Pray as you have seen me praying.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 631)
This hadith emphasizes the need to follow the Prophet’s example in performing prayers.
Moral and Ethical Guidance:
The Hadith of the Prophet (PBUH) teaches good manners, kindness, and justice. Learning Hadith helps Muslims develop good character (Akhlaq) and align their actions with the Sunnah.
Hadith Example – Good Manners:
إِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُ لِأُتَمِّمَ صَالِحَ الأَخْلاَقِ
Translation: “I have been sent to perfect good manners.”
(Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 8952)
Building a Strong Muslim Identity:
In times of confusion, the Hadith provides clarity on how Muslims should conduct their personal, social, and spiritual lives. It offers timeless wisdom for all aspects of life, including relationships, business dealings, and justice.
